Transitional Housing/Shelter ( Victims of Human Trafficking, Females )

Provider: COALITION TO ABOLISH SLAVERY AND TRAFFICKING

The program provides shelter for women, age 18 and older, who are in the United States as a result of human trafficking with the purpose of forcing them into slavery-like work practices. There are no geographic restrictions.

The program can accommodate up to 10 women; the length of stay is generally 12 months or more. Bedding, linen and shower facilities are provided. Residents are required to abide by the rules which prohibits the use of alcohol and drugs. The program is designed to assist clients to establish independence and self-sufficiency by providing supportive services including a financial savings program, social and cultural activities, group therapy and counseling. Residents are also taught skills in conflict resolution, job training and independent living. APPLICATION PROCEDURE Call the hotline for service; a referral is required for shelter. FEES/PAYMENT SOURCE There are no fees for services.
