Veteran Support Groups ( Caregivers )

Provider: SOUTHERN CAREGIVER RESOURCE CENTER

The agency provides services for families of active duty or veterans of any era in Los Angeles County. Services include caregiver/care receiver support groups and caregiver training. There are no geographic restrictions.

Operation Family Caregiver is for families of returning service members or veterans that have symptoms of PTSD, Traumatic Brain Injury or other injuries. The program coaches families on how to manage the difficulties that come with coming home. Caregivers receive coaching and support to help them adjust to their roles as caregivers and to be able to support their family members and themselves. The program lasts for 4 to 6 months, during which time the coach works with the caregiver on problem solving skills. A personalized program is tailored specifically to the struggles and strengths of each family.

The program also teaches military families the skills needed to best navigate their challenges, resulting in stronger and healthier families. APPLICATION PROCEDURE Call the (800) number for information. FEES/PAYMENT SOURCE There are no fees for services.
