The Coordinated Entry System for Families (CESF)

A program focusing specifically on homeless families by providing coordinated access through 211, to services from a network of homeless services providers throughout LA County. With this process, 211 LA County helps families save valuable time and eliminates the need to make unnecessary phone calls to multiple shelters and agencies.

Families must meet the following criteria:

1. Have at least one minor child under 17 years or a pregnant woman of any trimester that resides in Los Angeles County.

2. Be homeless or at-risk of homelessness within 14 days or less.

If the inquirer meets the criteria, the CRA can refer to one of 8 Family Solution Centers (FSC’s). To keep families in their community, referrals will be made to the closest FSC site.

In addition, families in critical need of assistance may be provided a motel voucher upon assessment and availability.
